Join our expert in tropical biodiversity to explore the Sian Ka’an Biosphere and to admire the wildlife located in the mangroves and the barrier reef of this important nature reserve
We will start the boat tour deep in the mangroves located 40 kms or 25 miles from Punta Allen. This means that we will avoid 2 hours and a half in the bumpy road from Tulum to Punta Allen, and that we will be able to experience the most pristine natural surroundings of Sian Ka’an
The tour begins navigating the mangroves with your boat captain and guide boat tour that we navigate, will give you the opportunity to spot wildlife such as migrating and/or resident birds as well as to spot a crocodile or 2
Later, the boat exploration continues in the transition from the Mangroves to the Ocean, where Seagrass Beds are formed and Sea Turtles gather to feed
Here, you will also encounter a group of Bottlenose Dolphins that use the Seagrass beds as hunting grounds for fish and other food
As the boat tour progresses from the mangrove to the caribbean sea, our captain will take us to discover the mayan barrier reef and snorkel among vast amounts of reef fishes and colourful coral formations
Later, we will continue our boat exploration by swimming in the beautiful beaches of the Sian Ka’an biosphere, where you will enjoy picture perfect moments while you swim in the tranquil and transparent waters of the natural pools of the Caribbean Sea
At the end of our boat expedition, we will enjoy a delicious caribbean meal at a beach side restaurant
We will end our Dolphin expedition in the Mayan fishermen’s village of Punta Allen, located at the tip of an island surrounded by mangroves and the caribbean sea, where you will learn about the quiet way of life of this Mayan fishermen community in the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve
